Lal Bagh  
   
Lal Bagh, one of the main attractions of Bangalore, was commissioned in the year 1760 by Hyder Ali and was completed by his successor Tipu Sultan. Spread over an area of 240 acres, the garden attained status of a Government Botanical Garden in 1856. Situated in the southern part of the city, this botanical garden houses rarest species of plants and trees from India as well as other countries. This aesthetically designed garden comprising lotus pools and fountains have an intricate irrigation mechanism for lawns and flowerbeds. Trees and plant species are appropriately labeled for convenient identification.
 
   
Vidhana Soudha  
     
Vidhana Soudha, seat of legislature of Karnataka, is an impressive building, commissioned in the year 1952 and completed by 1956. The breathtaking architecture in granite is blend of Neo-Dravidian, Indo-Saracenic and Dravidian artwork. The building comprises carved pillars, bases, pediments, cornices and arches.
 
   
Cubbon Park  
   
Cubbon Park is a major sightseeing attraction of the city contributing to historical testaments, government buildings and cultural institutions. Spread over 334 acres, the landscape of this symmetric park is covered with innumerable flowers, rare floral species, trees and shaded groves. The park also has walking passages throughout, on which the visitors stroll, admiring the beauty of the park.
 
   
Tipu Sultan Fort  
   
Tipu Sultan Fort was initially built by Kempe Gowda, the founder of Bangalore. The fort was later extended by Tipu Sultan, the Emperor of Mysore. Situated near the City Market, the fort dates back to the year 1537.
